What I would prefer is not making Emblems obtainable from the Wall of Flesh at all. Move them to a stage a bit later in the game, so new hardmode players can actually get a move on.

I mean, come on, who told you they have to be from the WoF or that they're perfectly designed for that tier, anyways?

I came up with this as a solution to low spawn rates of Voodoo Demons, not emblem farming.

Emblem farming is the reason why like 80% of us are even reading this. Their low spawn rate post-mech isn't even an issue if we separate them from Emblems, anyways. Pre-hardmode, I never had issues with those buggers.

And if the emblems will still be attached to the WoF and your idea will not pass?

The problem is you are negating his suggestion by posing another one. He isn't trying to remove the emblems from WoF, but to make WoF farming more viable. Maybe he personally likes the emblems being WoF drops. He is welcome to say "nah, I think I want to focus more on this suggestion, not some other one".

Well, yeah, I'm not saying he can't post this. That would be against the rules.

But two parallel ideas are at play here, and both remove at least some incentive to add the other. One makes WoF farming more viable. The other makes it less necessary. The advantage of this one here is that the benefits extend to prehardmode, but it also encourages the farming of an easy boss later in the game, something that many find annoying/tedious.

A lot of people associate the WoF with emblem grinding, so zimber shouldn't be surprised to see the issue pop up here. I don't think this one alleviates the annoyance/tediousness by much, because the vast majority of people experience that while grinding for an Avenger Emblem past the stage at which they should be fighting the Wall.

But it's good for helping players obtain their first doll. On the other hand, I'm not sure about the degree to which that's a problem.

Personally, I kinda enjoy fighting the wall of flesh multiple times. It's the only boss that I feel has a clear marker for how fast you beat it without a timer, since you can leave one block of the box he leaves behind as a time trial marker. So my opinion on this has nothing to do with emblem farming (or trying to get a clockwork assault rifle, the main reason -I- fight the WoF twelve times). That said, I'm afraid I don't support this. The spawn rate's already going up in 1.3, as you said, and the time it takes the guide to respawn sometimes and the time it takes to get a voodoo doll already balances out a bit over time. With the increased rate of voodoo dolls, guide-spawning is going to become the new limit on WoF fights as it is. Increasing the rate at which a low-value non-stacking item drops at that point is just going to be annoying.

Here's one change we could make, at least. Have the Guide Voodoo Doll kill the Guide only when Hardmode has not been activated. Makes the farming process a bit easier and faster.

To further confirm what @Leinfors mentioned about the "murder 70 zombies to get a Groom" issue, I'm also (as a staff member there) skeptical of the said information. As Lein said in his post, it was more than likely just someone who was misinformed, or trying to convince themselves of a false theory. Or maybe even someone who was messing around with testing the spawn rates and based that information off of only one instance, which would be incorrect to do. Dunno for sure, and probably never will.

With that in mind, I've removed the (false) information from the wiki until further verification is obtained on the matter, though I'm already positive of what the results of the testing will be. That said, I apologize for not catching that bit of misinformation before you posted the thread, @zimberzimber.
